Fedora 14 - Installing software

How do I install software?.

Go to System-Administration-Add/Remove Software.

Type Google Chrome in the search box and then click on Find.

Select Google Chrome and then click on Apply.

A password prompt will appear.Enter your administrator password and then click Authenticate.

Go to Applications-Internet.Google Chrome is now installed.

You can also install software using the Terminal.

Go to Applications-System Tools-Terminal.You must be an Administrator to install
software.
Type su (SuperUser) and press Enter.Enter your Password.

Type the command yum install google-chrome-stable and press Enter.

Type y for Yes and Enter.

Yum will start to download the program.
Yum stands for YellowDog Update Manager

Once it's completed Google Chrome will be installed.

NOT after 4 days later.....

Case background:

My machine's motherboard was faulty.I couldn't connect to the LAN. I suspected that the on board network card was faulty, so I logged in a call to HP. (yes, mine. Techies machines do breakdown too).

The call was logged in on the 24th of March. Only after replacing the motherboard twice, (the first replacement was done on the 25th, but the motherboard was faulty) did HP manage to resolve the issue.

Why I didn't buy a Ferrari

Ferrari’s latest 458 Italia is so hot, it has been catching fire across the globe. It has been reported that five of the cars have burst into flames since leaving the company’s Maranello factory. Incidents have also been reported in California, Paris, China and Switzerland. This has led the world’s most famous supercar maker to recall the model, which will involve 1,248 very wealthy customers.

Apparently, the problem lies in the glue used to secure the wheel arch lining to the car’s chassis, and this adhesive has been overheating as it’s near to the exhaust system. There’s a risk of it catching fire when the 458 has been driven for a sustained period of time at high speed. A Ferrari spokesman said that all 458 Italias built since the end of the July 2010 had been modified at the factory to resolve the issue.

In Malaysia, the 458 Italia is sold from RM2 million per unit by Naza Italia. At the car’s launch back in April, Naza Italia said it had 14 names in its order books for the 570 bhp 4.5-litre V8 Prancing Horse. Since there hasn’t been any sightings of burned 458s in our hot weather, it’s save to assume that they are all safely kept in the cool garages of Datuk and Tan Sri owners.

I would recommend the Netbooks(any brand) if you are a light surfer who just want's to surf and check your E-Mails.Notice that the processor is an Intel Atom.It's not meant for multiple processing, i.e working on a spreadsheet,surfing all at one go.

The Netbook is light weighing in at around 3.3 pounds, suitable to be carried around.

There isn't any CD or DVD ROM drive.This could be a disadvantage as with all Netbooks when you need to install a program using a CD or DVD.

Remembering Syed Mohamed Nur Bin Syed Kamal

Syed Mohamed Nur Bin Sayed Aladdin was a final year mass communications student who was on the very last leg of completing his studies in August, 2008.However, fate took a cruel and unexpected turn when he suddenly collapsed while having an ice-cream at Astro's Executive Dining Room after a recording session. He passed away a few minutes later in the ambulance.

He was brought to the Serdang Hospital but could not be revived. According to doctor in charge, Syed Mohamed’s heart failed minutes after he collapsed. He passed away around noon on Saturday, 19th July 2008.

The Syed that I remember was this nerdy-looking and awkward student. He always felt that no matter how well he performed, it was “not enough, not enough” for his parents, his lecturers and especially not enough for him. But he worked hard and tried his best and that’s how he will be remembered …

The very afternoon I received the news, I was in shock. I’ve never had a student die on me, to put it bluntly. I drove in a daze to the Serdang Hospital. I met Syed’s parents and my friends from Astro who were with him during those last moments. His friends began trickling in. They were Steven Tan, Stephen Anand, Wai King, Ayu, Niveena and a few others from other schools. Some arrived later to wait for the post-mortem to be completed. Everything was moving in ‘slow-motion’.

The next day we were at his house for the funeral. Other than a slight bruise on his forehead, he looked very peaceful. Daliza and I sat with his mother trying to console her but ended up crying together. Emotions were running high that day. I could not bring myself to look at him when we were asked if we wanted to see Syed for the last time. It was just too devastating …

More so when Suhaimi told me that he had offered Syed a permanent position at ASTRO AWANI just the day before, something that Syed was looking forward to.

Syed came to my room occasionally, either to discuss assignments, views or family issues. He wanted desperately to graduate and help his retired parents. This is an abstract of one of his last emails to me;

“Suratan ini mungkin mengandungi perasaan terpendam saya tetapi ia bertujuan untuk menjelaskan akan betapa kemahuan saya memerlukan pencarian rezeki. Harapan saya agar dapat membalas jasa kepada PapaMama sementara mereka masih disini untuk melihat. Kini saya redha dan bersabar menunggu gengaman Ijazah B.A. (HONS) IN MASS COMMUNICATION dengan satu harapan malang berganti tuah. Sekian terima kasih atas kesudian membantu saya.”

The following week was equally difficult for all of us at School of Social Sciences and Liberal Studies (SSLA). My room turned into a crisis centre when fellow students and friends dropped by to reminisce about Syed. Everyone left my room with puffy eyes.

Conducting classes was even more heart wrenching. How do you give a lecture to the same faces who were at the hospital and the same faces who were at the funeral? I guess it was fortunate that I was summoned to attend the ELC (English Language and Communication) accreditation exit meeting, so Pei Lee took over my Media Law & Ethics class.

With everything going on that week, Syed was weighing heavily on my mind. I guess it wasn’t a surprise when I ‘saw’ him in the corridor across the SSLA office. I thought I was hallucinating, but I actually saw him; he smiled, nodded and walked away.I asked Erin Victor, one of my graduates about the incident. She said this to me: ”You’re going to be alright Miss Lina. He knows you’re been thinking of him. It’s his way of saying that he’s okay coz he’s in a better place”.

Yes, I believe he is indeed in a better place ... Syed, you will be missed dearly and remembered always by friends, lecturers and colleagues…

Here are some excerpts from them:

“I didn't praise Syed Mohamed Nur enough. He was the best intern ever that I have worked with. At 23-years old with just one more subject before graduation, he was even better than some of the producers that I have worked with. He was a great guy. Very polite and ever willing to help others. I didn't praise him enough.” -- Suhaimi Sulaiman, Producer, ASTRO AWANI.

“Syed was a guy of few words with a thoughtful look. Whenever you crack any jokes, you would want to get a cue from him of whether it’s worth telling or not. If he kept still, you would have to give the joke another go. Yet when he smiled over it, you know that it’s genuine and the joke was a good one. That’s how I remember Syed from day one in my class, Introduction to Psychology 1.” – Norul Hidayah, Head of Department Psychology.

Honesty and perseverance are his strongest traits. Many times he would come to me sharing his struggles (academic & financial). When he had finally adjusted to the campus life here (he was a transfer student), you would recognize that he was the 'uncut diamond' now slowly flourishing and refining. His burst of creativity and constant humility provided the successful impetus for his team projects and class presentations – Yeoh Pei Lee, Media Law & Ethics lecturer.

Losing somebody with such a serious face that hides a beautiful, warm and meaningful smile is something very difficult to digest – Nur Daliza Dohat, Mass Comm. lecturer.

I went with my kids to watch Geng last Saturday.

It's a bit scary in some parts, which I think they should've not included some scenes especially the cave scene. Some kids were screaming and then proceeded to cry afterwards.

Overall, the story line was weak.I would've expected Upin and Ipin as the main focus of the story.

Graphics wise it was beautifully rendered, however they will have to work on the physics on human and animal movements as some did look stiff.

Walking a bit from the car park to the house is tiring, but they can't walk properly because they have lost their limbs or worst their lives to bombs and bullets
We sleep on a full stomach whilst some of our brothers and sisters go on for days without even a drop of water or a piece of bread

In Loving memory 2

After finishing high school, Adik briefly went to IKIP in Pahang to further his studies.He tried to fit in but after sometime decided that it was not for him.

Adik returned to KL.Some time later, he enrolled at Lim Kok Wing to do his studies.

It was here that I believe he bloomed.He made many friends and throughly enjoyed his studies.The whole family rallied with him as he studied.My mum remembers making him strong coffee so he could study late through the night.

It was all well worth it as adik later graduated from Lim Kok Wing with a Diploma in hand.We all went to his Graduation Ceremony. The whole family cried as he received his Scroll.We were and always will be proud of his achievements.

It is perhaps with a sad heart much later next year that we will accept his Posthumous Degree.

Throughout his years with us, Adik has always been making friends everywhere he went.My family was honoured that many of his friends came for his funeral to pay their last respects.He was much liked and loved by everyone, friends and family alike.

Untill his last days, he would still keep in contact with his friends especially his 3 best friends from high school.

It was roughly 23++ years ago that one night my dad woke me up in the middle of the night and said he had to bring my mother to the hospital as my mother was having labour pains.At that time we were staying in SS3 Petaling Jaya.

On the 28th of October 1984, our family welcomed a new addition.

Syed Mohamed Nur.

My late grandmother wanted a grandaughter and picked the name Nur, which in Arabic means Light.As the latest addition to the family we all loved him, between me and my brother, my parents waited about 9 years before another child was born.

Soon after adik was born, my family moved to Cheras.It was here that Adik started preschool.I remember his uniform was pink in colour, as was all who went to Tadika Kemas.We stayed on untill he was in standard 3. My parents then bought another house in Sri Damansara.

Adik went first to SK FRIM in Kepong. He was there from Standard 4 to 6.I remember my dad, myself and adik going to his school every morning to send him.

We would send him to the gate and always made sure he went to the canteen and wait there as we sent him early in the morning when it was still dark.

Adik then spent the next 5 years going to Secondary school at Sekolah Menengah Taman Ehsan.It was here that he met 3 of his best friends who are in contact untill today.
To quote one of his friends, we were more like brothers rather than friends.

When we received the call, my first thoughts was that maybe he didn't eat/was feeling dizzy or fatigued and passed out.He was having fever the past week on Monday and Tuesday.

I didn't think he would go this way. Allah wills it so, we accept.

I didn't think his previous meeting with me a few months ago would be the last time he came over my house.To think back, perhaps he did know.One thing I would remember is he said "I'm going away far", while eating with me at the mamak stall.

At that time I thought it was work related as he has been to Perlis for work.Much later my mama did relate that about 2 weeks before, Adik brought her to Megamall for lunch and some grocery shopping.This was one thing he did which was out of the ordinary.

He did live life the way he wanted and enjoyed.He was passionate about Advertising and Media/Mass Communications.

Prior to that last meeting, he did come over.He asked if he could park his bike at my house as he was going to see the Peter Pan concert at Stadium Merdeka.After his motorcycle accident last year, I feared for his safety.

I made him promise everytime he came over to give me a call once he reached home.He always did.Whilst the family is sad, we are glad he went amongst his friends.Our fear was what if he had fainted or passed out whilst riding his motorcycle.

Nevertheless, we will all and always miss you Adik, - Mama, Papa dan Abang...

It will not make you less a man (if you are a man), to say 'I love you' to the people that you really love -- well, you know how some men misinterpret and couldn't tell the difference between 'being macho' and 'being insensitive'. To me, it's just plain stupid.

He collapsed when we were having ice-cream at Astro's Executive Dining Room and passed away a few minutes later in the ambulance while Azean and I were holding his hands. The doctor said, his heart failed minutes after he collapsed.

I am still recovering from a state of shock.

We (me, Azean, Kamarul and Haji Nazri) made the arrangements for managing the jenazah and pengkebumian -- something that I have never done before. We had to help the family as they were so traumatized.

We have one life to live. A short one too. Just give love and never expect anything back. And don't hide your feelings.

Ayah, mak, abang, dokmen, adik, Syaza, Jida, Kak Ani, Mokciknab, Kam, Moqq, Jef -- I love all of you. (I might have accidentally left out some names... I am still recovering from shock... Please accept my apologies).

To my friends at Awani and out there, I love you too.

I find it disturbing after reading about a math prodigy who after years of intense training stoops down to being a prostitute.What a waste.

Perhaps pressure got to her.Imagine losing out on your youth, instead spending days and nights studying.

I also find it distrubing that an 11 year old was able to take a motorcycle and take her baby sister for a ride.That apathy caused the baby sister to die in a freak accident.

Both these examples goes to show that all things come in good time.Growing up too fast is in some ways against nature itself.There are things that take time and you have to wait for it.

Time flies by.

It's already 5 months that I've been here.So far so good.I'm learning new things.

Patience is a virtue much needed here.I've made some new friends.

I've noticed that some people are very humble although they are in a powerful position.Some people have good manners whilst other are too arrogant.It does show one's upbringing.

A simple gesture like saying Thank you or perhaps pulling out one's seat and letting people sit while they work are worth more that words can say.

Power is a double edged sword as they say.It can work for or against you.Perhaps some use it to cover up their own short comings.

"Power trips" are dangerous.They can some day short circuit and burn oneself.

To quote Spiderman, of all things, since I don't do much reading like Shakespeare,

"With great power come even more greater responsibilities".

About a year ago I left the Goverment Service to enter the Private Service.

I've been as far as CyberJaya.I did not enjoy it much.Then I moved on somewhere closer to home but the almost daily fieldwork was a bit too much for me.It was not financially beneficial to me either as I had to fork out my own money in order for me to pay for my toll and petrol.

The claims were often disputed and late in payment.

Alhamdullilah the current job that I'm doing is allright for the moment.I'm still learning and adjusting.

Alhamdullilah.

After waiting patiently for so long.....I will be moving on to a new job.

Circumstances dictate that I have to move on.Where I am currently employed I won't be able to move up neither will I have a bright prospect.

I look back at 5 years that I've been working here.

This is the place where I was given the opportunity to learn practical networking,website design,systems administration and trouble shooting.

This is where I met my wife online.

I thank everyone that I've worked with but I leave with no regrets and hope for a brighter and better future ahead for myself and my family.

Truth be told, I've been underpaid for the job that I've been doing.

Over the weekend I attended my brother's graduation.

I can't help feel proud of what he has achieved so far.All the best to you adik.I myself did not ~~graduate~~ finish my education properly.

Hopefully in the coming years I'll muster enough patience and tenacity to study again.

Over the weekend my parents moved to a new house.

I can't help but feel sad because previously when my father bought the former house it was thought that it would be the place where my parents would be retiring.

Financial circumstances warranted that the current house be sold in order to settle debts.

As a father myself now I do understand why my father did what he did in incurring the debts he had.I remind myself why I should not apply for a credit card.

When one gets a credit card one is lulled into thinking that one has endless supply of money.

It is when the time comes to settle the bill that you get a rude awakening.

Times are such that in order to survive one needs to have between RM3,000.00 to 4,000.00 per month if you intend to live in the city.

Most of us barely touch the RM2,000.00 salary scale.

I can't imagine the cost of living in the future.

I've had a bad exprience with locally made cars namely Kancil.

The first time(through my own fault) I broke the lower right arm and it cost about RM1,500.00 to repair.

This is the second time which could've been avoided, had I known that you had to check and change your gear oil.I trusted the people at Perodua's service center but in the end it will cost me close to RM800.

Reason?.They didn't inform nor did I bother to find out that you have to change your gear oil often.

Sigh....

It's been 6 years now that I've been working in the same place. Recently I've been made known that my position has been made redundant.

I can't say that I'm not dissapointed.I can't say that I'm not sad.

After toiling all the years, being loyal to this organization, this is the reward that I get.Slam bam thank you ma'am.

The people here have taken me for granted too long.By nature I'm introverted. I like to keep to myself, read by some people as arrogant.

Many times I've proposed ideas to further improve the facilities here.It's not that the organization lacks funding.

I've seen some unnecessary things bought with public funds that benefit a certain and select few.

Well, hopefully the grass is greener on the other side.

Telekom Malaysia Bhd has opened up its last mile and will deliver broadband access connectivity service to JARING Communications Sdn Bhd's Internet users.

In a statement yesterday, TM said it signed a DSL wholesale service agreement with JARING last Friday, following the determination by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission to unbundle the last mile.

Under the terms, TM will provide DSL ports, a new high-speed last mile access technology that transports data and multimedia over the last mile of copper telephone lines.

"Being our first customer, DSL Wholesale Service will provide JARING an instant nationwide broadband access and opportunity to bundle an independent service package in the shortest time and at minimum cost.

"This will assist JARING and other potential service providers to overcome the high levels of investment, capital cost and other obstacles to capture the potentially large broadband market and drive the take-up of broadband access line to meet the objectives of the National Broadband Plan (NBP)," said TM chief operating officer Datuk Baharum Salleh.

He said in line with the NBP to boost the broadband penetration rate to 10% of population by 2008, TM was aggresively rolling out broadband services on its own through its subsidiary TM Net Sdn Bhd as well as other broadband-related infrastructure nationwide and offering them to other licensed operators.

Hopefully this will increase broadband penetration in Malaysia.For a country that is supposed to achieve Vision 2020 in about 15 years we're still far behind in terms of broadband penetration and usage.

I hope that JARING will offer better value service.It's sad for me that although JARING pioneered Internet in Malaysia, through it's own fault and lack of aggresive initiative it fell behind in terms of users.

Life's been great to me now.

I've a wonderful family, wife and son now.After work I usually change and sometimes bathe my son.

He's normal routine is to wake up after 2-4 hours for his milk.I've to get used to having my sleep interrupted.

Usually as I drive to work every morning I will listen to the radio.

So far, I've come across two radio advertisements which I find distrubing.

1.)The Proton Savvy advertisement.It goes something like this "

"Welcome agent 227.We're going to try to see the toughness of Proton Savvy.We'll blindfold you and let you drive through town."

This is followed by sounds of a car being driven and ramming into other cars.

What kind of message does this present?.

It's allright to drive recklessly just because you've got a tough car?.What about the other road users?.Are their lives and safety not important?.

2.)The Maybank Insurance advertisement.

"No, no careful mother. You'll slip and fall".

"John, your mother's not a child. Besides she's got Maybank Insurance".

Does that mean as long as we've bought insurance we don't have to be careful?.

KUALA LUMPUR: Movie-goers may have to stand up and sing the national anthem before the start of the film as a mark of respect and appreciate the Negaraku campaign conducted by the Information Ministry.

Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Arshad Hashim said cinemas were being encouraged to play the anthem after all commercials and movie trailers were shown.

“It’s not compulsory. The Government does not want to be regimental about it. But we are encouraging it and hopefully, it will be carried out willingly,” he told reporters after singing Negaraku with Bernama staff in an assembly at their office here yesterday.

Dr Arshad said that playing the national anthem was also encouraged at entertainment centres, before morning assemblies at kindergartens, schools and private institutions of higher learning, and “before baca doa (prayers) at Government offices with piped-in music.”

It was compulsory, however, for Negaraku to be played at government functions and events held by the private sector but attended by government officials, he said.

Last Friday, Information Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir announced that the ministry together with departments and agencies under it would be carrying out various activities to create awareness among the citizens on revering and loving the national anthem.

The campaign, Dr Arshad said, was also to evoke a sense of patriotism and sense of pride in Malaysians.

“We need to acculturate the citizens to always stand at attention and sing along proudly.

“The respect and appreciation for the national anthem is waning and the blame is on us if the future generation can’t sing Negaraku,” he added.

There would be no rigid instructions from the Government but the ministry would be counting on the initiative of the citizens to help this campaign take off as soon as possible, he added.

However, circulars to all companies, organisations and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers informing them of the campaign would be sent out shortly, Dr Arshad said.

When contacted, Golden Screen Cinemas general manager Irving Hee said:

“When it is done in the right context and environment, it’ll have a positive effect, giving the anthem its due respect. Otherwise, it’ll have its repercussions.

“There are five to six shows a day with so many screens, so I hope it won’t be an overkill situation and belittling the anthem.

“But I need to see the guidelines and look into the logistics, and materials that will be given to us,” Hee added.

TGV Cinemas general manager Chung Shyh Kwong said the company would be “more than pleased to comply with any official government directive and guideline” when it receives them.

My comments:

Boost for civil servants as PM agrees to two proposals

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has agreed in principle to a five-day week and a Cost of Living Allowance (Cola) for the country's one million civil servants.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who made the announcement yesterday, said a five-day week would benefit civil servants as they could spend more time with their families.

He said the Government had also agreed to re-introduce Cola to help ease the burden on civil servants in areas where rentals and cost of food and other basic needs were higher.

This will narrow the disparity in benefits received by civil servants in urban and rural areas.

“In principle, I have agreed on a five-day week work for civil servants and the Cola system,” he said during the civil service Workers' Day celebrations at Intan yesterday.

My comment?

As it is, the 3 Saturdays that goverment servants work aren't productive.

The reality is we're suppose to start work at 8:30 and end at 1.15.Supposedly.
The truth is between 8:30 to 9, most civil servants will have their breakfeast.They will start work at 9, have another break around 10:30-11 and lunch again around 12:30.

Total *actual working hours* = 3

If you really calculate together with the average time commuting to and from work, it's not productive to work on Saturdays.

Come this October, it will be 6 years since I got my driving licence.

Some observations that I've made over the years :

a.)If people can get away cutting lanes they will.My pet peeve is when the car in front of me gives way to too many people.I believe especially at intersections that there is an unwritten rule of letting one car go before you go, in other words alternating.

There will always be one person who will give way to as many cars as possible, thereby holding up traffic.

b.)Driving too slowly as opposed to driving to fast.This is a dangerous habit.Imagine a driver going 50Kmh on the right most lane on a 3 lane highway.

c.)Those drivers who's mission in life is to break the 0-100Kmh speed record.
Why do you have to drive 150Kmh on a highway?.

I'm sure you've seen those notebook locks especially at the computer shops.

Are they really secure?.Will a laptop-lock protect your laptop when you are away from the office or public places? Well, you better think again.

The video below demonstrates just how easy it is to open a Kensington laptop-lock using a roll of toilet paper, tape and a pen.

It's really scary to know that a roll of toilet paper is all that it takes for someone to take your laptop. I hope this video will prove to everyone not to leave their laptop around and never trust all laptop-locks that will protect your laptop.

Sometimes life gives you choices which at that time seems to be hard.
So far in my 30 years of living I've made one choice which created a rift with my parents.

I got the "you'll regret that choice you made because we're older and we know better" speech.
Which made me think back to

Initially my parents were over protective over me.When I told them I wanted to get married, they were against it.My wife wasn't their choice.

To anyone out there who has made a hard life changing choice because he or she sincerely believed that at that point of time that was the right thing to do, I applaud you.

It's not easy going against the wishes of your parents or society.People always expect things to happen in a certain way.

You get born, grow up, get into a certain school, finish school, get a good job, find a partner, settle down, have kids.The list goes on.What I've learned is that life isn't so.

Not everything is black and white.There are greys.

As a parent I can understand the urge to protect your children.But, one day they'll have to make choices which you may not like.At best, parents can be there when their children have no where else to go and need them.

Wake up!

It's been a long time since I watched a Malay movie.

I'll give this movie 8 out of 10 rating.

The primadona Meriam, a gamelan dancer is well known in the town of Paku Laris.Meriam wins the hearts of many admirers and is revered for every performance in the town as well as in the Palace. The "Bunga Sundal Malam"(Tuberose) is her trademark symboizing her grace and mesmerizing beauty.The audience also looks forward to her famous dance where she is able to "float" on the canang.Marsani and his close friend Danial are among the many admirers who compete to win Meriam's heart.

However Meriam chooses Danial for a husband instead of the more powerful and handsome Marsani.With his ego bruised, Marsani burns with jealousy and continues to obsessively pursue Meriam.

Pregnant with her first child, Meriam is found laying in a pool of blood by Laila and Sitam, her loyal friends.Marsani is devastated by Meriam's tragic death.On top of that, Danial's life is also taken when his boat sinks at sea during a storm.Strange happenings begin to occur in the town of Paku Laris.Many families and friends connected to Marsani are killed.The villagers begin to accuse Meriam of dabbling in black magic and has now returned as a "Pontianak".

My review:

a.)Danial is conviniently killed in the first half of the story.
b.)The movie should've have stayed in the past era as in 1940's to 1950's.It doesn't make much sense for a spirit to wait around 50 years to seek it's revenge.
c.)There are some scary parts but soon the novelty wears off because the use of the same theme.

Dynamic probabilities

Probability

Life is all about probability.

I was on the bus on my way back home today when I came across 4D shops.

What struck me was the number of people lining up to buy numbers, hoping to strike it reach. That brought back memories of high school mathematics on the topic of probability.

There were these people who bet against the odds of striking that one number which would in their mind make them rich and happy.

It was then that I thought about probabilities in our lives. Let’s say for instance in a job interview, there usually would be more than one candidate for the position(s) advertised. If there was only one position then out of the number of candidates there would only be one chosen.

Dynamic probabilities.

I thought of this term. My definition would be getting the highest chance to get or achieve the one’s objective by dynamically altering external factors.

Imagine the interview scenario. There would be perhaps more than one candidate. Perhaps one candidate took the time to groom himself, do a little bit of research about the company. The other candidates perhaps came to the interview without doing their homework.

That one small factor could perhaps sway in the diligent candidate’s way ensuring that he gets the job when almost all other factors like education and experience are on par with the other candidates.

Sports is another area which probabilities rule.

Why is it almost for instance in a football game, the team that scores first and maintains their defence wins?.

Another aspect from my personal experience of sparring in WTF Tae Kwon Do is the first one to strike has that advantage over his opponent. The opponent’s confidence decreases if you are the first one to strike a blow.Read more about Tae Kwon Do in lieawulf's blog here.

I was on the bus this morning and sitting across me was a girl.

What striked me was she was wearing blueish grey contact lenses.To say that she has mixed blood would be a lie.

I wonder sometimes to what extent humans go to make themselves appear more attractive and beautiful.

Some of my observations :

a.)Ever noticed that most asian women like to wear high heels in order to make themselves more taller and perhaps noticable?.Read more about this here.

b.)Wearing non prescription contact lenses just to look more beautiful.Since when do asians have blue/grey/green eyes?.Read more here.

c.)Tight jeans.I read sometime back that men especially should not wear tight jeans if they want to be able to have children later in life.Read more here and here.

By the way, it'll be hot untill September, so wear less ;)
